Özet
The antifungal effects of 10 concentrations (10, 7, 5, 3, 1, 0.1, 0.07, 0.05, 0.03 and 0.01 µg ml-1) of propolis methanol extract (PME) on P. infestans, P. capsici and P. parasitica [P. nicotianae var. parasitica] were evaluated in vitro. PME was mixed with sterile maize meal agar medium at various concentrations. Acetone at 4% and recommended rate of metalaxyl (1.8 mg a.i. mm-1) were used as controls. Mycelial discs (5 mm in diameter) from actively growing margin of 5-day-old culture of each species were placed in each extract medium and incubated for 4 days at 24°C in the dark. Significant differences were observed among the extract concentrations. PME at 10, 7, 5 and 3 µg ml-1 completely inhibited mycelial growth in all Phytophthora species and killed the mycelium on PDA discs. The other PME concentrations had fungistatic effects on these pathogens. The results indicated that PME contains compounds with …
