Özet
Changes in precipitation patterns due to the climate change will significantly affect rainfall erosivity in the future. Information on spatial and temporal variation of rainfall erosivity is highly important to determine the measures to prevent water erosion, which threatens soil productivity and global food security. The main aim of this study was to examine the regional spatial and temporal variations of rainfall erosivity in Turkey. Therefore, CHELSA database and linear USLE R factor model were used, and the reference period rainfall erosivity was calculated for the study area. Observation R factor values calculated using the data from 50 meteorology stations were used to validate the rainfall erosivity model.
