The Opinions of Effective Teachers about Their Preferred Teaching Methods and Techniques

Özet
The study aimedto scrutinizethe teaching methods and techniques that effective teachers prefer to utilize most. The study was designed as a qualitative phenomenological study. The participants of the study consisted of 25 teachers who were selected using a mixed sampling method, composed of snowball sampling, criterion and maximum variation.The data were collected via a semi structured interview form.In the data analysis, the content analysis and descriptive analysis methods were used jointly. The resultsrevealed that the effective teachers made use of22 different methods and techniques, out of which active learning approaches were the most commonlyadoptedones. The participantteachersalso stated that they were constantly searching for new methods and techniques, and that they were open to trying new oneswhen and where necessary.
