Özet
MethodsEighteen patients (mean age, 44±15 years; 10 women) with chronic renal failure on regular hemodialysis program were included in the study. Before and after hemodialysis, SI and RI indexes were calculated by PulseTrace 6000 Module (Micro Medical, Rochester, United Kingdom) using a finger photoplethysmography transducer. Stiffness index is defined as the time interval between the peaks of forward and backward traveling waves divided by height. It relates to pulse wave velocity and wave reflection. Reflection index is defined as the ratio of backward traveling waves to forward traveling waves.ResultsThere were no significant differences in RI values before and after hemodialysis (72±9 m/s and 71±12 m/s, respectively, P=. 62). However, SI increased significantly after hemodialysis (7.2%±2.6% and 9.5%±3.4%, respectively, P<. 01).Conclusions
