| ObjectivesThis study aims to examine the effect of self-efficacy in chronic disease management on engagement in healthy aging and life satisfaction in individuals with diabetes.MethodsThis cross-sectional, quantitative study utilized self-efficacy for chronic disease management scale, engagement in healthy aging scale, and life satisfaction scale. Data were collected face-to-face. The study included 509 participants with diabetes residing in Kahramanmaraş, Turkey.ResultsType-2 diabetics demonstrated significantly higher self-efficacy in chronic disease management and higher life satisfaction. Conversely, type-1 diabetics exhibited significantly higher engagement in healthy aging. Self-efficacy in chronic disease management significantly and positively predicted engagement in healthy aging and life satisfaction among type-1 diabetics.
