Özet
The aims of this study were to determine the amount of input–output energy used in dry apricot production, to investigate the efficiency of energy consumption and to make an economic analysis of dry apricot production in Malatya, Turkey. Data used in this study were obtained from 97 farmers using a face to face questionnaire method. The sample farms were selected through a stratified random sampling technique. The population investigated was divided into two strata based on the size of apricot farms as 0.1–3.0ha (66 farms) and larger than 3.1ha (31 farms). The results revealed that 28647.03MJha−1 energy were consumed by the first group and 17884.72MJha−1 by the second group of farmers. The input–output ratio and productivities were 1.24 and 0.24 in the first strata and 1.31 and 0.25 in the second strata, respectively.
