Özet
In this article, the hedonic regression technique is used to determine the factors affecting used car prices in Turkey. By using a unique data set on second-hand car prices for 1074 cars, the regression models were estimated by employing the semi-log, log-linear and Box-Cox transformation methods. According to the results, while some characteristics of cars such as having a diesel engine, black and grey colors, an automatic gearbox, a sunroof, origin of production such as Japan, Germany, Korea or USA, production year of the car, and engine cylinder have positive effects, the number of official vehicle services, and place of sale in Istanbul have negative effects on used car prices.
