Özet
This paper aims to determine the affecting factors on the consumers' willingness to pay for imported meat products in Turkey. A random survey was conducted in the cities of the Black sea region in Turkey. A questionnaire was administered to 1,000 people living in Samsun, Giresun, Ordu and Tokat cities on March of 2008. Results show that variables such as gender, education, income, family size, weekly meat consumption, risk perception have impact on the consumers' willingness to pay for imported meat products. Findings suggest that the consumers in developing countries, similar to the developed nations are likely to pay more for domestically produced meat. © International Economic Society.
