Özet
The effects of different rootstocks, budding times and techniques on budding success rate of black mulberry were investigated. The black, white, pendulous and red mulberry seedlings were used as rootstocks in greenhouse conditions. White mulberry rootstock was also used in open field. Budding time was late March, late June and early August. Due to bleeding latex and running water from cut stems of mulberries, inverted T-budding was also performed, together with the usual T-budding. As a result, while the highest budding successes (69.0-73.3%) were obtained from Morus nigra rootstocks in early August; no budding success (0.0%) was obtained from Morus alba (open) rootstocks in late March in both (T and inverted T, respectively) budding techniques. The results revealed that the budding time and rootstocks had a significant effect on the success rate of black mulberry budding but budding techniques had no statistically significant effect.
