Özet
In this study, existence, characteristics, dimensions and use of authentic leadership in educational applications which is one of the new types of leaderships is examined. For the leader to be authentic, he has to constitute a stable self in the organisation, determine his role in the organisation actively and he must determine compatible goals necessary for both his professional and individual development. Leader must be unbiased about the evaluation of environment and followers. He must exhibit leadership behaviours suitable to his role in the organisation, his values and expectations about him in the future. Authentic leadership is stated with such terms as the level of knowing himself, information accessing without bias, organising himself, emotional intelligence, positive psychological wealth, self-confidence, changes in the perspectives, superior skills, openness in relations, balanced information computing, having high moral values and positive psychological wealth.
