| This study was carried out on the walnut cultivars Bilecik, Yalova 1, Yalova 3 and Yalova 4 to compare propagation and sapling quality of walnut with patch budding at dormant season in Tokat province ecological conditions. The research was conducted in 1996-97 years. Successful budding ratios in walnut varieties were found as 90% with Bilecik, 85% with Yalova 1, 88% with Yalova 3 and 90% with Yalova 4. Also, the ratios of budding sprouted at the same year were determined as 3.70, 9.80, 3.77 and 20.37%, respectively. While the highest sapling yield was obtained from Bilecik variety with 53%, the lowest sapling yield was obtained from Yalova 4 variety with 28%. The sapling yield of the other varieties were found as 43% and 41%, respectively.
