Özet
There are several factors that adversely affect iron uptake even though it is a sufficient level in the soil. Iron applications from soil and foliar were investigated on plant growth, yield and mineral contents of broccoli in this study. The experiment was carried out in the soil, containing low organic matter, high lime and pH. The study was conducted out as a second crop after wheat harvest. Marathon broccoli cultivar was used in the experiment. In the study, 1500 mg m-1 FeSO4. 7H2O was applied from soil, and in additionally, 0, 40 and 80 mg m-1 FeSO4. 7H2O were applied on foliar. The experiment was carried out in randomized plots with three replications in open field. Effect of treatments on plant height, curd diameter, curd yield, number of lateral curds, number of leaves and mineral composition of plants were investigated. The results show that in the case of Fe deficiency or when Fe is at a critical level in the soil, yield is increased significantly by Fe supplement through fertilization. In addition, both soil and foliar application are necessary.
