The Effects of Different Plant Growth Regulators and Foliar Fertilizers on Yield and Quality of Crisp Lettuce Spinach and Pole Bean

| The aim of this study was to determine the effects of different plant growth regulators and foliar fertilizers on the yield and other agronomic characteristics of crisp lettuce, spinach and pole bean. The study was conducted in Tokat/Turkey during autumn season in 1997. The cultivars “Altin Kivircik”(crisp lettuce),“Matador”(spinach) and “Alman Ayşe”(pole bean), were studied. Seven different foliar fertilizers and plant growth regulators were used for pole bean and 18 for crisp lettuce and spinach. Plant growth regulators and foliar fertilizers had a significant effect on head weight, leaf number, head length and head width of crisp lettuce; yield, leaf length and leaf width of spinach, and yield, fruit size, and fruit length of pole bean. These applications had no significant influence on fruit diameter and fruit thickness of pole bean. |
