| In this study, the buckling behavior of non-homogeneous orthotropic plates is investigated based on the first order shear deformation theory (FOSDT). Also, material properties of nonhomogeneous orthotropic plates are assumed varying through the thickness as a quadratic function. The boundary condition is considered to simply supported. The basic equations are derived by using the virtual work principle and solved by employing Galerkin’s method. The expressions of critical buckling loads for non-homogeneous orthotropic plates are obtained in the framework of the FOSDT. In addition, the classical plate theory (CPT) solutions are presented as a special case. The effects of in-plane orthotropy, shear deformations and nonhomogeneity on the critical buckling loads of non-homogeneous orthotropic plates are analyzed. |
