| The survey with cotton producers was conducted in Koçarlı district of Aydın in 2023 by meeting with 50 farmers one-on-one. The survey consists of a total of 34 questions, 17 of which are related to weeds and plant protection problems. According to the findings of the study; All producers are men and 32% are primary school graduates. When we look at the data regarding plant protection problems in cotton in the study; As weeds, it was observed that the most common weeds were Canary-Sorghum halepense (41%), Dog grape-Solanum nigrum, and the least problematic were Gluegrass-Setaria verticillata (4%) and broomrape-Descurainia sophia (2%). Farmers stated that two-spotted red spider (Tetranchus urticae)(38%) and aphid (28%) were the most common pests and that they were problems. At the end of the study, it was determined that farmers did not have enough information about plant protection problems, consult the necessary authorities regarding these issues, and take the necessary precautions during or after pesticide use and application. |
