| Silver is an important metal used extensively since ancient times due to its availability, economic value, nonhazardous waste production, and antibacterial properties. For this reason, silver is the most preferred metal in the synthesis of metallic nanoparticles. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in the range from 1 to 100 nm exhibit unique optical, magnetic, and electrical properties and have great potential in medicine, pharmacy, textile, composite fibers, and electronics. The synthesis methods, characterization parameters, and application areas of AgNPs have been reported by researchers in numerous experimental studies. This chapter aims to critically review novel outcomes of the synthesis methods and characterization parameters of AgNPs for diverse engineering applications. |
