| Özet |
| In this study, a poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) membrane potentiometric sensor was developed for the determination of rivanol, a skin antiseptic. For this purpose, rivanol (RIV)--tetraphenylborate (TPB) ion pair was synthesized and used as an electroactive material (ionophore). The sensors were prepared using the synthesized ion pair (RIV--TPB), PVC and o-nitrophenyloctyl ether (o--NPOE) as plasticizer at different ratios, and their potentiometric performance properties were tested. The developed rivanol--selective potentiometric sensor was shown to work in the concentration range of 1.0 × 10−5--1.0 × 10−2 M, and had a low detection limit of 2.17 × 10−6 M. The proposed sensor worked in a wide pH range (4.0--10.0) at different concentrations (1.0 ×10−2 and 1.0 ×10−3 M) without being affected by pH changes. Furthermore, the sensor had fast response time (approximately 15 s), good reproducibility and good selectivity. The greenness evaluation of the prepared sensors was carried out using green analytical procedure index (GAPI) and Analytical Greenness metric (AGREE) tools, overall score of the sensor was found to be 0.74, indicating greenness of the sensor. Finally, the developed sensor was applied to bovine serum albumin (BSA) protein solutions containing different amounts of rivanol, and was shown to be able to determine rivanol with very high recoveries and with higher sensitivity compared to the spectrophotometric method. |
