Özet
This article focuses on educational problems of children in orphanages. The study aims to find the causes of their problems in the area of education and in the light of these findings to offer solutions regarding the educational problems of these children. The data of the study were collected through questionnaires and interviews carried out with students, administrators, social workers, psychologists and teachers in Artvin Boys' Orphanage and Sabancı Girls' Orphanage. One of the main objectives of these institutions which have attracted great sensitivity from the state and society is raising individuals that are well-educated and beneficial to the society. However, the rate of educational success of the children in orphanages is not able to meet these expectations. This study underlines the lack of staff, the negative effects of Law No. 3413 that enables children in need of protection to get a job, and most importantly the inadequacy of education and training in values education
