| Land Registry and Cadastre organization was established in 1847 for registration and other applications related to real estates, then it was renamed as the General Directorate of Land Registry after the establishment of Republic of Turkey. Cadastre unit was added to the organization in 1925. The General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre serving under several laws, has not been successful in completing the cadastre and land registry for all of Turkey. As being a full candidate for Eurpean Union (EU), Turkish Republic has made an attempt to complete the cadastre and land registry with the involvement of private sector since 2005 in order to meet one of the criteria of the EU. General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre has started to work with private sector functioning in surveying field to complete the land registry and cadastre of 7000 units in Turkey in line with the Article 2 of Law 5304 stating “on the grounds that cadastre works are to be carried out through adjudication”. It was not a common practice for the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre to work together with private sector companies so as to complete the land registry in Turkey. Therefore, some problems have been ecountered during the applications betwen the companies and the ofices of the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre. This study, describes the processes to be followed after adjudications and important points that should be considered by the companies. In addition, common problems in the geodetic process are explained and some real world examples are given from the the first group Gümüşhane Digital Cadastre Mapping project. |
