| Özet |
| Turkish economy has been a good laboratory sample with its financial instability and occurring crises. Since most of the time stability programs undertaken by government have been less than succesful, it is necessary to correctly define the problems that cause the crises. In this paper, it is suggested that basic problems which cause financial instability are; long lasting public budgetary deficits, increase of currency substitution and open position, financial weakness, dominancy of public banks in the sector and their duty costs, providing long term guarantees for saving deposits, asymmetric information, speculative activities and political risks. To get rid of these problems, following suggestions are offered: Reduction of public budgetary deficit, privatization of public banks, abondoning of giving government guarantees to saving deposits, increasing of transparency, increasing the efficiency of control mechanism … |
