| AIM or PURPOSEThe aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical performance of a newly developed bioactive fissure sealant and a fluoride-releasing resin-containing fissure sealant in children who need pit and fissure sealants.MATERIALS and METHODThis study, approved by the ethics committee, included patients aged 7-9 years with an indication for non-invasive fissure sealant in the mandibular permanent first molars. With the split-mouth method, fissure sealant was applied to the relevant teeth with Premier BioCoat® (premier Dental, USA) and Fissürit FX (Voco, Hamburg /Germany). The 6-month clinical performance of the materials was evaluated according to modified USPHS criteria.
