Özet
It is essential for individuals with special education needs to continue their lives as integrated into society and respected like other members of community. The teacher plays the most significant role in educating students with special education needs. In addition to being an expert in the field, the special education teacher should be compassionate, have a strong sense of empathy, and understand the other person. This sensitivity of the teacher is fed by their professional competencies and technical knowledge, as well as his/her ethical understanding (Soyer, 2010). Special education teachers in Turkey graduate by completing the Special Education undergraduate program in education faculties.
